Congrats on your pregnancy. I read on your blog that you're feeling pretty yucky – I have been the same way. I can't believe how this worked out! I spent the most intensely crappy part of my first trimester feeling bad during the entire month of December, which is the time of year with MOST obligation for a mom! Thanksgiving dinner in late November was one of the last meals I cooked enthusiastically. After that it was all downhill. On top of that, I live in Arizona, where the summers are HOT. And July – when I'm due – is the hottest month of all – 110-115F is fairly average range of temperature. I may not leave the house that month.
Anyway, this will hopefully be my second homebirth! I had a cesarean with my first, hospital VBAC with #2 and home waterbirth with #3. Those births were all in Ohio, which is not a midwife-friendly state. So we had to be rather secretive about it all. Arizona, on the other hand, is VERY midwife-friendly, but the state doesn't allow midwives to attend VBACs. So once again, it's all on the down low.
Very frustrating! Good luck to you finding a midwife! Did you homebirth with your first baby?
