QotD: It was Kismet
How did you meet your current, or most recent, significant other?
For our first date, my boy suggested we meet at the Phoenix Zoo. And so we did one Sunday morning in February (February mornings in Phoenix are lovely, by the way).
It was a perfect, perfect location for a first date. We could stroll, we could sit and talk – it was easy to fill those inevitable awkward pauses observing bald eagles or giraffes or ostriches.
About a month later we met up there again with the kids for their first meeting.

The Phoenix Zoo is a great place for date – way to go Scott! I used to use it as kind of a litmus test. If the guy wasn't comfortable walking around and gazing at the animals and talking, then he likely wasn't going to provide any lasting stimulation for me. Of course, as a teenager, I wasn't above continuing to date a couple of them for a while as I looked for someone else.
What a nice story. And you can comfortably tell the kids about it. Beats the way I met my husband (pouring beer on him at a fraternity party…almost 21 years ago).

Sweet pictures!!
My plan was successful.
I met John at grad school and gave him sh*t for having teenaged mutant ninja turtle posters on his wall. He saw "fiesty" and bit.
